An iconic design – and a meaningful collaboration
The iconic CH24 Wishbone Chair, one of the first models that Hans J. Wegner designed exclusively for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949, has gained recognition as the ideal chair, capturing the essence of modern Danish design.
To celebrate the Wishbone Chair’s eye-catching form and unparalleled craftsmanship, Carl Hansen & Søn is releasing the icon in five Special Edition matte finishes, aptly referred to as Soft Colors, in partnership with Be Original Americas - a nonprofit organization committed to informing, educating and influencing manufacturers, design professionals and consumers on the economic, ethical and environmental value of authentic design.
A portion of proceeds from all sales of the CH24 Soft chairs will benefit Be Original Americas’ Student Fellowship program.
As a long-standing member of Be Original Americas, Carl Hansen & Søn is committed to educating both members of the design community and consumers on the origin and importance of purchasing authentic design.
Be Original Americas’ Student Fellowship Program is an integral aspect of the organization’s mission: two students are selected to follow the journey of authentic design, from ideation to production, and from warehousing to showrooms. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, the program provides the Fellows with one-on-one access to some of the design industry’s most notable manufacturers, designers, and retailers.
