Umber is a sophisticated wool fabric designed by Luisa Allegri for Gabriel. The fabric features a distinctive, oxford texture, characterised by small two-tone checks in brown mélange, inspired and named after the earthy brown pigment umber. The mélange is Umber’s defining feature, softening the geometric design, and creating a poetic, visual effect. Its comfortable, handcrafted quality and soft aesthetic is ideal for upholstering chairs and soft seating furniture while creating a sense of well-being in private and public spaces.

 

Crafted from a blend of premium quality wool and polyamide, Umber boasts exceptional durability, offers a long lifespan, and ages beautifully. Made from natural wool-fibres and synthetic polyamide, the fabric meets strict requirements. Wool offers exceptional comfort and a natural regulation of temperatures while polyamide is a versatile fibre offering great strength and durability.

 

Umber is certified in accordance with EU Ecolabel standards and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and meets Möbelfakta requirements.
