Embracing the Outdoors
Designed by the design trio EOOS
EOOS Embrace Outdoor Series
EOOS has represented the contemporary side of Carl Hansen & Søn’s collection since 2015.
Inspired by the existing Embrace Series of tables, chairs and sofas, the design trio presents the Embrace Outdoor Series, seamlessly extending the unparalleled experience of comfort and relaxation to outdoor spaces.
Embrace Outdoor Dining Chair
Designed by the design trio EOOS, the E008 Embrace Outdoor Dining Chair echoes the silhouette of the E005 Embrace Armchair. Created for supreme comfort outdoors, the chair is crafted from untreated teak that develops a unique patina over time. Designed to be used with or without its signature weather-resistant cushioned upholstery, the chair can also be stacked for convenience.
E022 Embrace Outdoor Dining Table
The E022 Embrace Outdoor Dining Table is available in three sizes to adapt to a variety of spaces, meticulously crafted in FSC™-certified untreated teak to allow for its unique patina to develop in its environment. As a result of EOOS’s poetic approach towards the design process, the table has a light expression, as if almost floating. Inspired by a kite’s tether, a playful motif that carries across the Embrace Series, the table is comprised of three parts with an anchoring wood base, steel wire structure and a daisy formation tabletop comprised of up to 50 individual pieces.
Outdoor Living, Indoor Comfort
The soft upholstered cushion envelops a highly finished FSC™-certified teak frame, providing an elegant contrast of upholstery against sleek and precise woodwork. The removable cushion in durable, weather-resistant fabric allows for versatility of use and aesthetics, giving the untreated patina of teak a more prominent role and demonstrating the high level of craftsmanship found in the finger joints on the arms and truss assembly under the seat.
EOOS
Austrian design collaborative, EOOS, were established in Vienna in 1995 by Martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann, and Harald Gründl. The trio study historical roots in a contemporary context and use a unique process called Poetical Analysis to create works. Their method focuses on myths, rituals and intuitive expressions, to create connections that extend beyond initial perceptions.
EOOS view design as a poetic discipline, and believe that end results should be able to accommodate changing needs and desires.
