Cisco Systems, Inc., an American multinational corporation headquartered in California, designs, manufactures, and sells networking equipment. The company was founded in 1984 by Leonard Bosack and employs 70.000 people. The name "Cisco" was derived from “San Francisco”.

The company's engineers insisted on using the lower case "cisco" during its early years. The logo depicts the two towers of the Golden Gate Bridge. In 2012 Cisco merged with Meraki, a company making wireless routers, and Studio O+A was given the task of creating their new headquarters

isco Meraki’s new framework utilizes natural materials like exposed concrete, wood and plywood, ample and beautiful light, and color in their spacious office environment. Nontraditional open and private meeting spaces are purposely placed throughout the office. The fresh, unpretentious interiors are equipped with comfortable chairs in timeless and classic designs, created by some of the world’s best designers – among them Charles Eames and Hans. J. Wegner.

O+A succeeded in designing a space the way Cisco-Meraki builds its products by emphasizing simplicity and seamless ease of use. This intention is felt in the hallway where you find a simple and clear-cut reception in striking green-turquoise. The ceiling in the informal room consists of wood slats.

Cisco-Meraki’s café is planked by floor-to-ceiling windows and fixed benches with green cushions. The tables are rectangular and finished in light oak to match the Wishbone chairs. In the centre of the room stands a long wooden table, and the Wishbone chairs are painted in varying green shades from the anniversary collection. The shade of the chairs is repeated in the carpet’s pattern of rectangles. The room is lit by the luxurious Taraxacum chandelier, whose name is Latin for dandelion. When lit, the lamp resembles the ripe seeds of the flower.
